The Demarc100 is an integrated access device (IAD) for wide area ATM services. It offers flexibility and predictability to enterprises and service providers implementing broadband ATM services. With the Demarc100, customers can deploy scalable and resilient multi-service networks that last.
The Demarc100 offers customers flexibility. Users can choose from a wide range of interface options including 10/100 Ethernet, OC-3MM, OC-3 SMIR, and T3/E3 ATM. Chassis are available with fixed or redundant modular power supplies and support up to three ATM line interface modules. Each Demarc100 supports up to 128 bi-directional PVCs. Bandwidth can be provisioned incrementally among constant, variable, and unspecified bit rate service categories. Managing the Demarc100 is also flexible. In-band and out-of-band support allows the Demarc100 to be managed locally via the serial interface or remotely via telnet. SNMP allows configuration and fault management from the service provider’s network operations center.
The Demarc100 enables improved traffic flow predictability across broadband ATM services, layer 2 virtual private networks (VPN), and transparent LAN services. It supports 32 shaping classes to smooth data bursts and avoids non-conforming traffic. Policing ensures that only controlled bit streams enter the provider network. The Demarc100 features real-time monitoring and data collection of both physical and ATM level parameters for SLA confirmation. Operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) F4/F5 cell flows support fault management.
